An Instagram friend posted pictures of Queen Anne’s Lace. Brings back memories of reading Anne of Green Gables. I never knew what it looked like.

My right foot has been hurting. It’s probably plantar fascititis one of the most common causes of foot pain. I started jogging a bit more before my plastic picking sessions and overall I think it’s good for my health. I’m doing more stretches to ease the strain on the fascia. My foot pain has been bothering me on and off for a few weeks now, and it’s part of the reason why my health took a turn for the worse about a year ago. I don’t talk about it much. Many of us who are healers, mothers, and nurturers – we need to take care of our SELF. But we are often drowned out by this noisy world.

It’s funny that I’ve had various people in power tell me take care of myself, and reminded me that selfcare is important https://drplasticpicker.com/dr-plastic-picker-agitates-for-the-ocean-at-a-regional-meeting/. But I never believed them. I never believed that they meant it. But during the Climate Reality Training this weekend Al Gore emphasized it. And one of my environmental mentors emailed me this weekend just to check in on me and asked me how I was doing. I told Mr. Plastic Picker that it’s been a while since I felt truly cared for, that I haven’t really felt mentored and cared for like this since my early college years. Mr. Plastic Picker said that he believes their sincerity as environmentalist as stewards for the earth see us as part of this ecosystem and in general are more caring individuals.

And so this week will be busy with finishing the Climate Reality Training Series and a work project that I am doing. But this weekend I concentrated on self-care as well which is important. I bought good quality new-to-me shoes at Goodwill. We dropped off a big box of donations, many things I had salvaged from the beach. We haven’t purchased many new things in a while, but my right foot has been hurting and I think it’s from the relatively thin work shoes that look good but are Sketchers. I found Ecco brand brown woman’s work shoes which retail for $110! The soles were very supportive and felt much better for my feet and I got them for $7.99! I also got a pair of Easy Spirit Pristine white new-to-me white sporty loafers. They retail for $30 and I snagged them for $7.99! I also bought two New-To-Me yoga pants and a sports bra for $5.99 and $3.99.

If you are on your environmental journey, please remember to really take care of yourself. Dr. Plastic Picker is an environmentalist and I care for the earth and for you. I am gently reminded everyone that you need to take care of yourself so that you can care for the earth. This is going to be a long journey for all of us, and you need good shoes, good food, and a supportive sports bra to get us through the next 15 years.

Our daughter painted this. It is beautiful, as is her spirit and her heart.
New-To-Me work shoes! $7.99 each. Would have retailed for $140 together. Much better quality shoes than I would usually buy for myself. Giving myself permission to self-care without hurting the earth.
